My wife and I went to go see a movie that just came out called “We Are All Gonna Die”, because it was written and directed by the guys that make our favorite Dungeons & Dragons podcast. We wanted to go support them because we are fans, and their distribution model of making independent deals with individual theaters is resoundingly successful for all the parties involved. The dissident right needs to take this approach, but I’m worried that they won’t get there because most of the dissident artists I follow use their status as dissident as their main selling point. The guys that made WADG are self-proclaimed “Hollywood liberals” but don’t make it the basis of the entertainment and art they produce.

I agree. Art has to start at a local level (local cinemas as you describe) and cannot just be restricted to online spaces. I also agree that using your "dissident status" as a selling point essentially restricts your work's appeal to the online spheres where other dissidents congregate.

Was "We Are All Gonna Die" any good?
